Contemporary countryside house project with elements of retro style in the interior design was conceived as a "long-term" project. The classic principal of the "heavy bottom, light top" and the usage of simple geometrical forms and strict lines in the façade complemented by small sculptural details make this house truly distinctive.
Compared to the size of the plot, the floor space of the building is quite small. At that, the house is still very imposing. Due to a big drop of the terrain, it was deemed necessary to use sustaining walls and partially deepen the ground floor. All of this together with unconventional space planning contribute to the unique structure of the house.
Larger façade forms gradually adapt to the human-size scale through interior design elements
The building consists of several units where several rooms of the second level literally "hang" in the air.
Vastly used in the façade finish, wooden and natural stone elements are instrumental to the interior design decoration. By complementing them with various other materials, the designer achieves unexpected and striking combinations.
The ground floor features housekeeping areas and the main living room and the dining room. The basement level houses a spa area and related utility rooms. On the second floor are located bedrooms and the owner's study.
