Countryside residence project "SAILOR"

Roman Leonidov came into working on a project with already-existing foundation with a small bearing capacity with a very daring, experiment-prone client. It resulted in a house that was even difficult to give a name to. House-X.

Besides that, this unfinished construction project concealed a certain number of planning errors and challenges which, by architect's account, had to be resolved in live action. On top of the existing project plan which the client was set on making over and improving there came about new overlapping forms. Without any ties to any particular style, paying no attention to contemporary trends and fashions, there appeared spaces, new lines on the layout plans, sprang up details and composition elements which revolved around the central core, truly transforming and redefining it.
The house turned into a metaphor of a ship with its sails stretched in the wind, perhaps even a mythical ship in the imaginary sea.
